I’ve never played hockey before. Can I play with The Washington Wolves?
Yes. It’s helpful if you’ve been on skates before, but we will work with you to build your skating and hockey skills, no matter where you start out.
I’ve been playing hockey for years. Can I play?
Yes. We have two teams — one competes in the MAWHL C division and one competes in the MAWHL D division. If you have a fair bit of hockey experience under your belt, the C team is probably the best fit for you. We hold evaluations at the beginning of every season to determine the C and D team rosters.
I’m under 18. Can I play for The Wolves?
Nope, sorry. Come back in a few years.
Where are practices?
How often do you practice?
We practice on Tuesday nights.
Where are games?
Our home game rink is at The Kettler Capitals Iceplex, which is on the top floor of the Ballston Common Mall in Arlington, Va., two blocks from the Orange Line Ballston Metro stop. It is located at 627 N Glebe Rd, Arlington, VA 22203. See a map or get directions.
For away games, we travel to Baltimore, Virginia, Philadelphia, Delaware and New Jersey.
How frequently do you play games?
Usually we have one game each weekend, though we take a break during December for the holidays. Sometimes we will schedule two games in a weekend to cut down on the number of times we have to drive far distances.
How expensive is it?
The 2012-2013 Wolves season will cost $875. You can pay all at once, or divide it into three payments spaced throughout the season.
